The venue for this year's Weekend Away is, as advertised, Cromer, North Norfolk. But please note the change of weekend - Friday 25th to Sunday 27th September, a week later than originally planned.
The postponement means that we can now utilise the North Norfolk Railway on the best day for it, the Saturday. We will take the train out to Holt where we will have the opportunity for a 5/6 mile walk and then take the train back. The longer walk is all the way back - about 12 to13 miles. On the Friday there will be a medium walk of 8 to 9 miles utilising the North Norfolk long distance footpath heading west to Sheringham and back. It may be possible to offer a longer walk heading back inland after Sheringham to make an 11 mile walk. On the Sunday the plan is to head east along the coast for a medium walk of about 8 miles going out to Overstrand with a loop out to Northrepps and then back to Overstrand and Cromer. A shorter walk of 5 miles would turn back at Overstrand.More detailed notes will be issued in due course when a reconnaissance has been carried out.
