... today started outside St Andrew's Church, Eakring and explored the fields and woods to the south-east, passing near Dukes Wood Oil Museum and the Dukes Wood oilfield's remaining nodding donkeys. These were used until the mid 1960's to extract oil from the underlying sandstone. The walk used part of the Robin Hood Way which has been diverted to avoid the line of National Grid's new so called T-pylons. These are likely to be used in future extentions of the national grid.
