Five Pits Trail to Grassmoor Country Park and Williamthorpe Nature Reserve, 27th February 2022

lk starting at the Timber Lane car park north of Tibshelf, first on field paths then taking the Five Pits Trail to Grassmoor Country park, circling this and then taking footpaths back to the Five Pits Trail and heading to Williamthorpe Nature Reserve before returning to the start.  Excellent tracks, blue skies and good views to the east over the Rother Valley.

Created by Derbyshire CC in 1989, the Five Pits Trail follows the route of the former Great Central Railway which served the five main, local coal mines of Grassmoor, Williamthorpe, Holmewood, Pilsley and Tibshelf
