Starting in The Green, Phil led eighteen ramblers on a squelchy, 7-mile walk past Long Clawson Windmill but not to Holwell Mouth as advertised due to the poor conditions in woods near this spring, the source of the River Smite. After a coffee stop, more field paths and better tracks took us to Nether Broughton for lunch in the children's playground before a strenuous climb over Slyborough Hill took us back to the start through the appropriately named Long Clawson.
